I’ve been kinda Blown Away Over Here.
Thank you, first of all to everyone that supported me at the recent Art Source and secondly to all of you who have signed up for my next painting workshop!
Seriously, THANK YOU for turning up, putting a face to a profile pic and buying prints and paintings and in the case of the workshops, for trusting in me with your tender creative journey.
As a tiny token of my appreciation, and with the excuse of Black Friday tomorrow, I’d like to share the love with a 10% discount off my Limited Edition Prints this weekend from Midnight tonight until Midnight on Sunday.
So, if you’ve been hoping and wishing and hovering (you know who you are).. then this is the sign you’ve been waiting for.

I can’t do ART because I have to get a proper JOB
Yesterday I spent the morning talking to students from Wesley College all about what it is to be and artist and how to make a successful career from their creative talent.
I addressed some of the things that stop us from being creative. In particular our inner critic.
Often a negative voice or feeling that stems from a belief that our creative work is ‘not good enough’ or from being shamed as a young person for ‘playing’ creatively when there was ‘real’ work to be done.
For those considering a JOB as an artist, writer or musician they are battling the notion that it can only ever be a hobby and not a career.
I mentioned an interview with Brene Brown where she describes the ultimate message of the inner critic
‘You are not allowed to be participants in creation.
You are not allowed to contribute to the evolving story of the universe that is in motion.
You just get to watch… and buy and that’s all you get to do.’
Whether we make our living from our creativity or not, she says that she has come to the conclusion that
‘the only unique contribution we will make in this world will be born of creativity’
And for those who are considering a career based on a creative enterprise then I was there yesterday to put some fire in their belly and show them that with some business acumen and hard work, not only is it possible to survive but to thrive.
If you’ve ever dreamed of attending a super inspiring creative workshop or longed for some clear and constructive teaching on how to paint with oils then check out my painting workshop in January. At time of writing, there are just 3 places left so just enough room for you!
