Fare the well
Fare thee well 40x50cm oil on canvas framed (Sold)
The last of the three paintings from Querrin in Co. Clare. As I post this I’m listening to Andy Irvine singing about the sweet County Clare, how fitting…. “And there I’d love to be”!
About 6 weeks ago I moved to a new temporary studio in my house to try it out. Uo till then I painted in my kitchen and the rest of my studio equipment, stock and other stuff was spread across a few rooms.
The new, dedicated studio room was brought everything together into one room but here’s the thing.
It is just too small. Bottom line is a feel like my wings have been clipped. I can’t dance around the easel , moving forward and backward.
It’s also too much of a ‘dedicated space’. When the painting I’m working on is in front of me all the time, like before, I am constantly catching the things that needs doing. I miss that and I think my paintings are the poorer for it.
