come to a pretty pass

This one was fast and loose and really a delight to paint. It’s another small one, just 30cm square, which was a change from the big monsters I’ve gotten used to painting this year. I found myself mixing far too much paint at once.

hope springs eternal

We had some fires here recently and there were big areas of Bray Head, where I walk the dog, completely burned down to the black ground. What is usually green and lush has been black and barren for weeks. It’s strange to see.

But look what I passed this morning…

Hope springs eternal eh?

  • That is sad to see Bray Head so blackened. I painted it a few months ago, very pretty place. Nature is wonderful and with all this rain I’m sure it will recover soon.
Yes funny changing canvas sizes, I’m going from small to large the other way, much more daunting.
