a penny for your thoughts
Another scene from my good friend Delyth’s house. Painted a while ago, I have dithered as to blog or not but it has finally made an appearance.

a big monkey off my back
On Saturday, Denise from The Doorway Gallery, came out and we selected the paintings for my September solo show. We may still make a few changes but we selected 14 paintings ranging in size from the big 32x32inch right down to a totey 8x8inch. We’ve agreed on the title, the two lead paintings and the artist statement is written for the show. We have a guest speaker in mind and Denise is working on that, so really it’s all done bar the shouting.
I’m delighted to finally be at this stage and to know that we’re prepared. It feels both exciting and like I’ve a got big monkey off my back.
That said, I am already just a little bent out of shape at the thought of this show. Denise was telling me that she knows Artists who don’t go to the opening of their own shows. Although I wouldn’t miss it for the world and can understand the idea of not wanting to go. Hanging my work up for critique while I stand in front feels a bit like inviting an audience in to view a therapy session!
Have you any better ideas than imagining everyone in the room naked!
