my big announcement

OK, so today is the day I get to tell you that I’ve been approached by not one, but two more galleries to show my work. How exiting is that!

The two galleries are The Bad Art Gallery  in Dublin and The Whalley Gallery in Hollywood Co. Down.

The Bad Art Gallery

A well established bright space gallery situated in Dublin’s thriving cultural quarter. The Bad Art Gallery has a comtemporary feel and represents over 30 of Irelands leading artists including John Kingerlee, Paul McCaul, Deborah Donnelly and Lucy Dolye.

Here’s a little video of Deborah Donnelly’s recent show at the Bad Art. Deborah also happens to be my cousin!

The Whalley Gallery

The Whalley Gallery is situated in the beautiful little town of Hollywood in Co. Down (Northern Ireland). The gallery owners, Stephen and Dawn are a husband and wife team with an artistic eye and honest approach and are both artists themselves. They specialise in Irish and international contemporary art and represent artists such as Graham Knuttel, Paul Kelly and Christine Bowen.

So I’ll be a busy girl working on getting new work for both galleries over the next few weeks and also refreshing the work already in the Killarney Art Gallery in Kerry.

I will be continuing to post my daily paintings as I work on new larger work. If you’ve never watched the video on the right about daily painting check it out. I really connect with his approach to daily painting and why it’s important to me.

I’m shipping the kids up north to their Granny for a few days next week so I can paint without distraction and get ahead a bit.

This little painting is from Liscannor harbour near the Cliffs of Moher in Co. Clare.

  • Congratulations, congratulations, congratulations!

So nice to see the Irish are finally realizing how amazing your work is. Kids to Grandmas is a good idea. Hope you can totally delve into your painting world. Just remember to step back from you art now and then. Without the kids interruptions, its easy to forget to back off and get a fresh look.

    Happy painting!

  • That is wonderful news! Congratulations!! I am so happy for you!

Glad to hear you will continue to post. I am looking forward to seeing your larger works, too.

    Happy, happy painting, friend!

    • Hi Linda, Thanks so much. I head tooth and claws back into the painting but I’m struggling to find my mojo again after such a long break from painting. At least I know that I just have to keep at it and it will come together. (or at least that’s how I’m choosing to look at it!) Ró
