cider party & flying on auto pilot

cider-party

Things are flying on auto pilot here while we are high stepping it in London. Back at the easel tomorrow!

Slinky found this toy pet carrier, literally while we were packing. Think he wanted to come too?

green with envy & whoohoo we’re off to London

green with envy- 20x20 inch

Whoohoo we’re off to London!

london

The girls and I are taking an early morning flight to London tomorrow morning, not bringing much more than a toothbrush and a smile! We will stay overnight in a posh hotel (thanks to a great deal on priceline.com, Brian’s top tip) and return on the last flight on Wednesday. We’re going to catch a show (the war horse) and suck as much life out the big city as we can in 48 hrs! The girls are almost as excited as I am. My Dad took my sister and I to London when we were around the same age and I can’t wait to do the same with mine.

Here’s a taster of the War Horse just to make you really jealous!

This larger painting is one of the recent selection that’s now in the Killarney Art Gallery.

dargle river running & autumn has arrived

autumn has arrived

The kids headed off this morning for the last day of the term dressed in Halloween costume and the houses are beginning to be transformed into all things pumpkin! I’m feeling relaxed as I am almost up to date on all my gallery commitments, a rare and beautiful thing!

This small painting is of one of my favourite spots up at Powerscourt river walk and was painted from reference photos I took on a beautiful cool sunny day just before the weather turned cold and the leaves started to fall.

The Humours Of MacSearraigh – Exhibition

The opening of my good friend Kevin McSherry’s exhibition will be this Friday at 6pm at Sol Gallery, opposite Waterstones. We’ll be there to cheer him on and check out his amazing work full of quirky humour.

Kevin was recently pictured on the front page of the Irish Times (if ya don’t mind) so if you’re up for a bit of “da culture” this weekend  you could do worse than join us in there!

I’m well ahead on the small paintings front and am almost finished preparing larger work for Christmas shows. More on that on Friday! This is one of a series on winter landscapes.
