Really sorry if you can’t see this image straight away. Click on the box above and it will open. I recently upgraded my wordpress software and one of the plugins (he knows who he is) is not getting along with the others. I’ve put him in time-out so most things will work. In the meantime I’m working on it.

Signal Arts Society’s 10th Annual Exhibition

Signal Arts Centre is pleased to present the 10th Annual Members Exhibition of works by members of the Signal Arts Society.” One of my paintings “not listening” has been selected to show.

not listening

There will be an opening from 3.30 to 5pm (We’ll be there!) at the Signal Gallery on Saturday July 11th and the exhibition will run from 6th to 18th July 2009.

“This exhibition is a showcase for members of Signal Arts Society and being a group show includes a diverse range of content, a varied selection of mediums and always something to delight even the most discerning of palates.”

Three in a bed

Over the summer I will blog some of the paintings that were entered into the Killarney Art Galley Exhibition. This will allow you to see some of them (I’m taking it you’re not all going to high tail it down to Kerry over the summer) and it will allow me a few minutes to catch my breath and to concentrate on new work.

This one, Three in a bed,  sold during the first show last week.  Three in a bed, 16×16 inch oil on canvas.

Gus

Meet Gus! A beautiful lab softy who very kindly offered to sit for me as long as I agreed to only show his best side!

This is the commission that I was working on over the weekend and below is a photo of the under-painting in acrylic.

Today was the last chance coffee morning preview and another gang of folks arrived to see the paintings before they head off to Kerry. A really great morning, thanks to Gráinne and Claire for your help and homemade goodies. Thanks to all who came and donated almost €150 to across in Ireland. And thanks to those who bought paintings and ordered commissions.

Here’s some photos for you

The paintings have said tearful goodbyes and are packed and ready go! Hip hip! It’s off down to Kerry first thing in the morning and back tomorrow afternoon - about a 7 hour round trip! then bed for a week!

Table for one

You may have seen this one in some of the photos. it’s 20x20inch or 50x50com in new money ( 75x75cm framed)

The excitement in this house is at fever pitch! A couple of friends called by yesterday (with various excuses) but basically for a good goosey goosey.   I’d be exactly the same, so that’s fine with me. I even caught Rob talking to my Mum about the paintings and refering to them as “ours”. I found myself torn between feeling “ahhh that’s kinda sweet” and ”hang on a minute mate!” There’s slightly more than will ultimately go down to the show in Kerry, with some destined for other things so I really am running out of space at this stage.

The plan is, a private drinks party on Saturday evening for friends and family who won’t make the show in Kerry and would like to see them and also some local press may come for a look too. Then down to Kerry to deliver the show after the bank holiday weekend. The first of the two shows open on June 20th on Valencia Island.

Forked

This is a 16x16inch that didn’t make the cut. But I like it anyway. So here it is for you.
